Inspired by its name sake “killid” which means “key” in Dari, the mission of TKG is to open the door to a brighter future for Afghans by improving public access to independent media, information and basic resources.
Opening the door to a brighter Afghanistan to TKG means making it possible for more people to access and share the information and resources they need to improve their lives on a daily basis.
Our mission translates into ways big and small such as a young women who learns she has the right to vote or a girl who learns that women can be leaders too through our popular women’s magazine Mursal, to a community health care provider who discovers new options for health prevention or a student who discovers new music from one of Radio Killid FM’s radio programs to a farmer who is able to access a national market for the first time because of our distribution service NyeExpress.
Our mission also translates into a local leader or national policy maker who is held to account because of an investigative report by our nationally distributed general interest and news magazine Killid Weekly or by sharing our distribution network with dozens of other independent publications, TKG is creating a public space for pluralism in Afghanistan today.
TKG On-line is the newest addition to the TKG family and with it we hope to make it even easier for people to access our products and services but also contribute their knowledge and perspectives within Afghanistan and around the world.
Whether from an NGO run cyber café in central Afghanistan or an internet café in Paris we hope TKG On-line will make your life a little bit brighter! Welcome! |
