17 September, 2005, The Killid Group (TKG), publisher of Afghanistan's most popular and news and women's magazines, Killid Weekly and Mursal, and owner of talk radio stations RK FM 88 in Kabul and Herat has positioned journalists throughout the country to provide live programming on election day.
In those provinces with mobile phone access, TKG reporters will call their reports directly into RK studios in Kabul and Herat. In those provinces that lack mobile phone coverage, TKG reporters have been equipped with HF radios and Thuraya phones with which to share their interviews of voters, insights and report back any critical developments pertaining to the elections.
In all, 111 reporters will be conducting interviews and collecting reports from 27 provinces of Afghanistan, its main cities and even some of its most remote areas.
This TKG lead initiative is a public service, aiming to provide critical information for the public record on this historic day.
