Afghanistan’s first talk radio station, Radio Killid Kabul (RKK FM 88) is set to cover Afghanistan’s historic elections with live feeds from reporters and the public at 15 voting sites throughout the country to include Kabul, Ghazni, Parwan, Panjshir Valley, Jalalabad, Paktia, Wardak, Kandahar, Baghlan, Mazar-i-Sahrif, Jowzjan, Khost, Faryab, Kunar, and Herat. The coverage will start today and be broadcast by RKK FM 88 reaching an estimated 2.5 million listeners in the capitol area and surrounding provinces. The aim of this effort is to serve RKK’s audience with unprecedented access to timely and relevant insight into the nations first presidential elections and to serve as a valuable public record for future generations. RKK FM 88 is an independent radio station owned and operated by The Killid Group (TKG), an independent media initiative of the Afghan NGO Development and Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan (DHSA). In addition to RKK FM, TKG publishes the nation’s two largest magazines in terms of print run and geographic reach, Killid Weekly and Mursal Weekly. TKG also owns and manages the Nye Express, independent media network which serves the distribution needs of over hundred client based publications nationwide.
